This is soo funny. Remembering how I did all of these things, really well. I was the animated .gif master! I made animated gif backgrounds that did all kinds of crazy *beep*.

Looking at your portfolio, I had a robotic themed site once as well! I remember the days of learning the Photoshop 5 tricks of how to create "realistic" wires... hahah!

@Smee - At least it validated and had a doctype! Tongue

Never, not once

I am proud to say I have never done any of those things. I couldn't be any more proud to say it even if it were true.

cheers,

gary

If your web page is as clever as you can make it, it's probably too clever for you to debug or maintain.

Erm... fibber. There was no way that was built in 1999 and there is a very particular reason I can state that emphatically - it validates and to a xhtml schema that hadn't reached candidate recommendation by that time

Back then no real Web Master would have had a clue about valid code, or DTD's. There were only two browsers and one of those hadn't a clue what a DTD was! and nor had most of us Smile

Still it's a classic example and has clearly stood the test of time being that it appears to be still running live, is it not time to revisit client and offer upgrade Smile

I'm not sure, but I'm pretty certain I built that before I was out of high school. I grad-e-ated in '02, so it was sometime before that... I haven't talked to the owner since then... The owner of the company is a guy who used to own and run the HalfLife TFC server I played on.
