I would like some constructive criticism on this site please. I have not received any input from the client this is for, so the layout and colors and other aesthetics may change, but the general content won't.
I still have a few issues with the site. The things that are bothering me most are my shortcut use of tables in a few places instead of CSS, and a design issue with the photo gallery script that I'm using.
The tables issue isn't really a problem (this isn't the right category to ask for help anyway..), and there is a forum dedicated for the photo gallery script where I'll seek assistance for that if it turns out to be too difficult to figure out myself.
Hi somdcomputerguy, My
My initial observations:
When the site first loaded it showed the background color rgb(197, 159, 60) before the background image loaded.
Change the background color to be closer to the image, you may be able to reduce the background image so it loads quicker as well.
The site isn't responsive and elements overlap each other at smaller window sizes. Look into using media queries.
I will change the background
I will change the background color to more closely match the background image. Actually, that color was chosen to closely match the background image I was using before.. I just didn't change it to match the image I'm using now. That image is 160x120, I will proportionally resize it. I'll start with a 50% reduction, and go up or down from there.
I'll take a look at media queries too. In fact, the last few posts here I've been reading have been about that. I've briefly looked at the queries sample page you've created, I think I'll load it up again on the grandkids' tablet. A friend of mine has a Blackberry, I guess I'll be asking him if I could use it.
May be you can use 2014 web design trends
I think you need to redesign the whole site. Such type of design trend is outdated. May be you can Google 2014 web design trends & consider redesigning the website. You can still use the texture so it reflects a wood working website.
Hmm. Well I did ask for
