trying to create a custom counter into a band myspace

I am trying to add a custom counter to countdown to my band's cd release on our myspace page. only thing is i have no idea how to do it. I have come to the understanding that it will most likely involve flash, i have no knowledge of flash (yet) but does anyone know of any sites that could generate code for a countdown or some form of tutorial (only ones i've found require programs i don't have or can't find).
