site check please!

Couple of things:

  1. Make the page so that it can be viewed in different resolutions.
  2. Reduce the size of the background gif(188 KB is too big and takes a long time)

A few things, at first glance:
* I see you're using frames. That's fine, just keep in mind that it makes it impossible for anyone to bookmark any page other than the main page.

* The large background (outshineback.gif) for the content frame takes some time to load. 189kb is a really hefty filesize just for a background image, and since it's 999 pixels wide, your page will show horizontal scrollbars on almost all screens. Tony's webstats for AppCreator.com show only about 25% of his users have a resolution of 1152x864 or larger, which is what would be required for the user to not see horizontal scrollbars. You should consider a smaller tiled background or, at least, a smaller size/filesize image.

* The "Future" button is currently linked to "file:///c:/" ; you mentioned the site wasn't complete yet, but I'm letting you know just in case

Overall the site looks good... Keep us informed on your progress, I'm interested in your final draft.

Good Luck...

You haven't catered for smaller resolution monitors ? ie 800x600 I get a scroll bar when checked in that resolution.

Just a thought..... its upto you to design for smaller resolutions. Cheers

I notice that your menu buttons are bitmaps- at the moment they're a small filesize but you should consider using GIF or JPG formats for bandwidth reasons. I tried saving one of your menu buttons as a .GIF file and was able to cut down on filesize 75%.

On both your About Us and Services pages it appears that your content is overlapping (see the attachment).

I agree with paCkeTroUTer that you should consider browsers with smaller resolutions. Not only will they receive horizontal scrollbars, they won't see some if not all of your menu without scrolling. Without a means of navigation one has virtually no site.

The Future link leads to:

Multiple Choices
The document name you requested (/birta/future.htm) could not be found on this server. However, we found documents with names similar to the one you requested.
Available documents:

/birta/Future.bmp (common basename)
Please consider informing the owner of the referring page about the broken link.

I still think the site has a lot of potential- it will look great if you can work on the issues people have mentioned. Good Luck...

Well, now 3 of 4 buttons on your navigation are broken.

Also, I'm still seeing horizontal scroll bars. To make sure we're helping you as best we can, do you understand what we mean by "horizontal scrollbar issues?"

Still seeing the overlapping issue and the faulty "Future" link described in an earlier post. See quote for more details.

No offense, but are you checking this yourself before you post here? I find it unusual that links are broken for me and not for you, unless you're accidentally linking to a file on your local machine, which doesn't seem to be the case.

EDIT: I just noticed that your mouseover for the "Future" link says "Page Under Construction" so you probably intend for the link to be broken, for now... If so, my apologies Cool

yeah, the future page is still under construction.

with the picture that is overlaping, i set the opacity low so that you could just barely see it so that it wouldn't get in the viewers way whilest reading, but since you think it's still bad i've place the image above the writing. So tell me what you think.

thanks
