good article, expresses my sentiments re web site coding exactly. There's entirely too much belief that chucking out layouts can be done in ones sleep.

Biggest problem is that it's generally only web designers that appreciate the time effort and skill (or not) that went into a websites' design.
Users don't praise when it works easily, just *beep* when it doesn't (rightly so I guess), but our clients generally don't notice the benefits. I have started making it very clear from my initial contact that I do things differently than most because... (insert accesibility, usability and SEO advantages of well thought out and coded sites here), followed by pointing out what a lot of WD's do wrong and why my way is the better way. Still, it makes those initial emails or presentations quite a lot more 'wordy'.
Anyway, I know I'm preaching to the converted here so that's enough - good to get it off your chest though.
