i know i typed in the right "tags" for my profile in friendster using css but there's still white spaces in my profile when the background is suppose to be all black is there something wrong with my tags?

How are we supposed to know? You haven't posted what you've done. Only folk who are signed up with friendster can see your custom styles, so you'll have to show the rest of us your code.
