how to make the image bigger.
You are a little unclear with your request. Are you wanting to resize an image using Photoshop or a similar program? Are you wanting the image to resize according to the size of the browser window? Are you wanting to set a background image so that it does not repeat? :?
I am sure we can direct you in the right direction with a little more detail. By the way, welcome!

hello!! i've been reading here and i find these forums very useful.. the one that originally started this thread did not answer you back sir ragamuffin.. so i didn't know your answer to her question..
so lemme ask.. how can i resize an image using photoshop..? adobe to be exact.. yes, i want to resize an image according to the size of the browser window.. and i want to set the background image so it does not repeat also..
i sure hope that i gave a detailed question.. i'm not really a computer genius unlike you guys.. so excuse my ignorance..
i'll be waiting..
Re: how can i resize an imge using photoshop..
yes, i want to resize an image according to the size of the browser window.
When you say 'size of the browser window', I assume you don't mean to dynamically change the size of the background image dependant on the users' browser? Cos that would be quite complicated.
For a standard browser size of 800 x 600 pixels, you'd open your image in PS, go to 'Image/image size' and then enter the size you want it to be in there.

i know you're pissed with this friendster thing, but i'm using an image for friendster.. i don't want it to appear in tiles.. so i checked the box for 'center', but then it's so small, and yes it's in the center, but it's really small.. so how can i make it big, to fit in the friendster window.. ok, i'll change the size in photoshop, but what number should i type in order for it to appear in full size window? can you get my point here?
btw, thanks to you, that's a big help, but i don't really know how big is 1000 pixels or 800 or what.. what number should i put to fit the whole image in friendster window?
i've attached the image i want to use.. how can i make it big?
how to make the image bigger.
As most people's screen res is 800 pixels wide or higher, if you want it to fill the screen, make it least 780 pixels wide.
how to make the image bigger.
The lowest people use is usually 800x600, so the width, as Tyssen has said, should be near to 800 pixels wide.
A lot of people use a 1024x768 resolution, I use 1152x864, and my friends use 1280x1024. So you can't please everyone, I'm afraid

There are a lot of online tutorials and sites that can get you on your way.
Here is one from a google search:

I agree with the others...780pixels would be a good compromise.

While it may not be your Mother Tongue, and we will make some allowances, the lingua franca of this forum is English. You may use either British or American, but the language you used is not spoken here.

i think i'll have to handle that one.. c0rn0h0li0.. he's also from the philippines.. and i'm sorry for his form of writing.. that style is really used widely here in the philippines.. esp. by the teenagers..
the so called "text-speak".. the kind where you abbreviate every word you can to make it shorter so that it will fit in one sms.. you see.. it's 1 peso per sms sent.. so it's really cheaper if you put your message in just one sms.. (get that? ) so they kind of carry that in their everyday living.. i really don't understand this attitude.. i think it's alright to write in text speak for private conversations, but in public!! it really pisses me..
but then again, please don't generalize, in case you are generalizing, not all filipino youth are like that.. actually there are a lot of forums i've come across condemning the usage of text-speak in public..
sorry for my english, if it's in any way grammatically wrong..
and sorry if it's offtopic.. it's not about friendster or css..
i'll teach c0rn0h0li0 a lesson.. bwahahahaha.. (my diabolic laugh)
peace.. v(^_^)v

It's the same here in the US, but it is not appropriate in a technical forum. Here, we expect precision because the subjects we deal with require it.
We have no problem with grammatical errors and unexpected spelling (though there is a spell checker which should be used) if you're new to English. We'll certainly cut some slack for folks whose native tongue is Spanish, Tagalog or Filipino rather than English. But do try.
Thank you for your intervention.
