Creating a splash preloading images screen
Posted: Fri, 2008-07-04 12:31
I have been reading on various sites now about how to do this, and i have not come that far.
it seems like the easiest way to do it is with Javascript, but on all the pages i found i could not find something that worked well.
i want to have an index.html file that shows an image eg. Loading site, please wait, while the main images on the main site is loading in background, and when its done it redirects to the main page.
anyone got any good ideas/time to help me a little

Just don't do it! Spash screens only annoy people and drive them away from your site. Is that what you want to do? Really?

If your entry page takes so

If your entry page takes so long to load that you need to entertain your visitors in the meantime, you'd best rethink the page. It's too big. Internal pages that you link to may be over-sized, but your link text should warn the visitor.
This is Ed's and my way of saying we won't help you to do evil. There may be others about without our high moral standards.

In my case it was more like, "why go out of your own way in order to actively harm yourself?", which I suppose is a kind of evil depending on your moral philosophy..
