Light gray text in textarea

Using a light gray text color, coupled with the tiny font size just makes for more difficulty reading my own comments. Oddly, I can't find the source of the color change. What am I missing?

I considered just deleting the post. I had installed some new fonts because of their high degree of Unicode support. It seems, though that the monospace face is very light weight. It actually looks very much as if the typewriter ribbon were a bit old
The lesson for the day is: Be sure something you did isn't the culprit before jumping on what you think someone else did.
